It is important to know that eye exams don’t hurt. We use several child friendly tests to assess their eyes and adapt the exam depending on your child’s age and capabilities. Once we detect a lazy eye, strabismus or an abnormality of the eye we refer to an ophthalmologist for further evaluation.

Children Eye Examination
The Importance of Early Eye Exams for Children's Development!
Clear and comfortable vision is vital for children in order for them to perform well at school and in their everyday life. Approximately 80% of learning is visual. Vision problems are best treated if they are detected and corrected as early as possible while the child’s vision is still developing.
Parents often wonder when their child’s first eye examination should be arranged. Ideally infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at 6 months of age. Children then should receive additional eye exams at 3 years of age, and just before they enter kindergarten or the first grade at about at the age of 5 or 6.
